Selling Season was a success!

October 13th, 2009

This was our first official season selling deer that we raised ourselves.  We have put alot of work and care into growing healthy whitetail deer.  In order to keep our herd growing we sold as many fawns as we could spare.  We look forward to having another healthy crop next year.

We have also sold a few young does this year.  It has been a great experience talking with the buyers and finding out what they are looking for in the deer they are buying.  If you are interested in buying some fawns, does or young bucks next year, please give us a call now and we can be sure to let you have the first pick of the selling crop next year.

Second of the Season

April 16th, 2009

Turkey number 2 bit the dust a few weeks ago.  Troy called this one in with his superb calling skills.  Actually, it was the only the second turkey he killed using his turkey calling skills.  A few more years and he might call himself a professional turkey hunter too.  How is your turkey season going?

2009 was a good turkey season!

Frequently Asked Questions

April 2nd, 2009

Please read the frequently asked questions below.  If none of them answers your question please feel free to add a comment to this post with your question and a response will be sent to you by email.

Do you charge trophy fees?

No.  We have two types of hunts; management and trophy.  The management hunt requires a deposit of $750.  The remaining $750 must be paid before you leave whether you harvest an animal or not.  Trophy hutns require a deposit of $1,500.  If no animal is harvested you pay nothing.  If you harvest an animal you pay the difference between the hunt price and the deposit.

Can I bring a non hunter along?

Yes.  Non hunters are encouraged to come along.  We have plenty of space.  Non hunters can stay in the lodge and relax or we can set them out in a stand and let them nature watch.  We charge non hunters $100 a day while they are here.

Are hunters under 18 welcome?

Yes.  We love that hunters are encouraging young people to enjoy the sport.  We have had a few children here to hunt.  We enjoy teaching them the fun, excitement and responsibility of hunting.  Please let us know the age and capabilities of any young hunters you would like to bring along.

Do I need a hunting license to hunt at Troy’s Hunt Club?

Yes.  You can purchase your license online before or after you arrive here.  Most hunts will require a 2 day all game hunting license. You can purchase your license on the Outdoor Alabama website.

Additional FAQ will be added!  Please check back.
